Marjorie "Margie" Dean Obituary
Mrs. Marjorie “Margie” Monroe Dean of Laurinburg passed to her Heavenly home at the age of 76 on January 30, 2026. She lived her entire life serving God and others.
She was born in Laurinburg, North Carolina on February 6, 1949, loving daughter of the late Robert Edward Monroe and the late Margaret Newton Monroe. In December of 1967, Margie married the love of her life, Rev. Robert “Bobby” Floyd Dean, with whom she shared a wonderful life of service to God. She faithfully supported Bobby in their ministry as a Pastor’s wife and loved sharing her God given talent of music. Margie loved playing the piano with countless practices to bring God all the glory during church services, choir events, weddings and funerals. She was dearly loved by all of their church families and treasured being part of Central Global Methodist Church family.
Margie had a wonderful sense of humor and took great joy in creating a warm and inviting home for her family and loved ones. She felt the calling on her life to love and nurture children and considered being a foster mother an honored blessing. She was a prayer warrior, spiritual mentor and music director participating with many Emmaus Walks and Chrysalis Flights. Margie will be dearly missed by all who had the great pleasure to know and love her. She leaves a legacy of love and devotion to her husband, children and grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Marlin Dean Davis; and brother, Robert E. Monroe, Jr.
Margie is survived by her adored husband of 58 years, Rev. Robert “Bobby” Dean of the home; her adored children, Bob (Kirsten) Dean of Laurinburg, NC, Derek Davis and the late Marlin Davis of Lucama, NC, Raymond Dean of Laurinburg, NC, Barbara “B” (Rollan) Fisher of Chicago, IL, Sarah (Jeremiah) Banish of Nashua, NH, Micah (Elliana “Ellie”) Dean of Tampa, FL, Noah Dean of Rockingham, NC; grandchildren, Jennings Dean, Caleb Davis, Luke Davis, Aydin Davis, Mercy Fisher, Emmitt Fisher, Shepherd Fisher, and Iris Fisher; brother, Fairley (Shep) Monroe of Raleigh, NC; along with a host of loving extended family, many friends, and her church family.
The family is planning a private service for a later date.
