School Story:
When I graduated School I went to work for the N C Dept. of Transportation (NCPWC) at Wagram as an engineers aid I for 1 year, then as a Warehouse Man with Quality Parts & Equipment Company in Laurinburg for 2 years, as a route salesman for the Coke Cola bottling Company in Hamlet for a period of 3 years. In 1968, I was employed by Sears Roebuck & Company as an outside install sales person in a Catalog Order Store in Laurinburg (everything from Chain Link Fences, Central Heat & Air Condition to Carpet) which I enjoyed very much as it tough me a lot about the install industry. In 1978, Sears closed the Catalog Order Stores and I began my business by purchasing a local Bankrupt Landscaping Company, which I ran until my retirement in September 30, 2008, and I am still a little hands on with the present owner, guess you would call it "Bulldozer in the Blood" syndrome. Now I spend much of my time working in my shop in my back yard and in my Church (Spring Hill Baptist Church in Wagram) in charge of maintaining the Buildings, helping with the Food Pantry on Tuesday afternoon, and with the Community Breakfast our Church does on the Third Saturday every month, don't really know how in the world I had time to work on a public job!
